The weather is  consistently warm and sunny so even over the Winter months one can count on great weather.  Flights from the mid-west and north east are plentiful. The region has very interesting natural wonders  such as “Cenotes” and of course, the Mayan Ruins.   Some of the resorts are simply amazing – Landscaping, Food, Service and Facilities. However the beaches are nearly as nice as what can be found on some of the islands in the Caribbean.   One can get more for their money in the Riviera Maya compared to the Caribbean in terms of the service and quality of the resort.  If you want to combine history and  great resorts then visiting the Riviera Maya is a easy decision.

Riviera Maya is a stretch of Caribbean coastline on Mexico’s northeastern Yucatán Peninsula. Just south of Cancuncand stretching south to Tulum.   It’s known for its numerous all-inclusive resorts, such as those in the town of Playa del Carmen, and its long beaches.

There “nature” theme parks which take advantage of the local fresh water ponds, streams and some massive zip lines.

Getting here: The main airport is 30 miles north in Cancun. The taxi scene outside the arrivals terminal is a bit chaotic. There are a lot of taxi  and shuttle options. But we recommend that you arrange ground travel in advance.
