The Pines

Owned by Rock Resorts, The Pines is considered one of the nicest hotels in Beaver Creek. The keys to the hotel success include ski in-out (Very close to Strawberry Park lift), great panoramic views (mountain, village valley and forests) from many rooms, good service, consistently well maintained rooms and also host of the top rate Grouse Mountain Grill.   The rooms are elegant and the lobby is very welcoming. There are only 60 rooms. The Pines is very dog friendly, and offers a doggy welcome basket with homemade treats. The Pines has a well equiped gym and teh outdoor pool overlooks the valley with panoramic views.

The hotel is a bit off the beaten path since it is not located directly in the village. But this is part of the The Pine’s charm, as the very short walk to the village helps to make ThePines seem cozy and calm.  Because of the terrain and how the hotel is built, it truly does feel as if one is in the pines with great views.   The rooms tend to be spacious and in very good condition – Mountain Chic. As one would expect the hotel and rooms are skier friendly –  cubbies and coat hooks at the room entrance to keep your stuff ready to go in the morning, boot warmers and dryers, ski valet.   The valet service is noted by many as extra helpful. The piano bar is a nice touch.  Nothing wrong with the chocolate cookies in the afternoon.

Convenience rating is high: On site ski rentals and repair, ski  in/out,  proximity to 2 major lifts (Strawberry and Centenial). helpful ski valet, short walk to the village, great in-hotel restaurant, home made bread, hot tub and pool are well kept. Ski store on premise

Tips: Slow down to enjoy the music (Pianist and singer) of Tony G

Cons: Arguable ski in/out as the main lift “Centenial” up the mountain is 200 yards away. Pool and hot tub area is small. ThePines is an expensive hotel and in particular breakfast is pricey.
